How usage works
The JoyCode viewer, the IDE and code completion are free, always. The AI agent runs on a simple weekly allowance. On Pro you can also add credits for the weeks you want to keep going. No meters to watch, no surprises.
Your weekly allowance
The agent works from a single allowance that refreshes over a rolling 7 days. There is no fixed reset day. Each bit of activity frees back up exactly seven days after you use it, so your capacity keeps recovering on its own in the background. Most builders never reach it.
Credits, for the busy weeks
Credits are an optional extra on Pro. They sit aside until your weekly allowance is used up, so a quiet week never touches them. You decide when they kick in: the agent only spends credits once you switch them on in the viewer, and it stops the moment they run out.
Your weekly allowance always comes first. If you ever reach it, capacity keeps coming back on its own as the week rolls forward. On Pro, you can let credits carry a long session all the way to the finish.
Good to know
What draws on your allowance
Every message you send, and the work the agent does to read and edit your scripts, draws a little from your weekly allowance. Quick edits are light. Long, multi-step builds across several scripts ask for more. Everyday scripting stays comfortably inside it.
Code completion is always free
Autocomplete runs on a model you download and run locally on your own machine. It never touches your weekly allowance or your credits. It only uses your computer, so you can lean on it as much as you like.
FLASH and PRO, your call
FLASH is fast and light for everyday edits. PRO is a deeper model for trickier logic and big refactors. You can switch between them per session to match the depth you need to the room you have.
See where you stand anytime
Type /usage in the agent chat, or open the usage panel in the viewer, or your dashboard here. You will see your plan, how much of your weekly allowance is left, and your credit balance on Pro. Clear and simple, no jargon.
About credits
A little more detail on how credits behave, so there are no surprises.
Only after the weekly allowance
Credits never go first. While you still have weekly allowance, every request uses that. Credits only start being used once the weekly allowance is fully spent, and only if you have switched them on in the viewer. If they are off, the agent simply waits for your allowance to recover.
Credits need an active plan
Credits are part of an active paid plan, so you can use them while your Pro plan is running. If your plan ends, any credits you bought do not disappear. They stay on your account and simply pause. The moment you start a new plan, that same balance is ready to use again.
Top up when you want
Add credits whenever you want a little extra headroom for a big build. They wait quietly until you need them, never expire while your plan is active, and the agent keeps working without interrupting your task when it moves over to them.
